The total piece is 9-1/2" long topped with the 1-3/4" x 1-1/8" head. Pin
portion is steel
Glass portion is excellent - steel pin has tarnish. Please check over images.

Fun Fact: Around the turn of the century in England long hatpins were
considered lethal weapons and a 1908/1909 law required the pin portion to be no
longer than 9".
