A pretty lot of five antique 'style' gilt metal hatpins, Continental European,
they are secessionist or early art deco in style, but I think they were 'made
up' later, possibly from old stock. The gilt metal is still bright, but with a
little minimal rubbing in places. They have a simple pattern, with some
'hammered' detail and set with a glass diamante in the centre (three red, one
light green, one blue). The heads are quite large, approx. 24mm by 20mm, and
the pins are 11cm long in total. In excellent condition with the minimal
rubbing, unmarked but I'd say they have a good gold plating (rolled gold
filled). Sold as later reproductions. Please see all photos.
