This classic movie hat can be seen worn in a recent western movie. (Can you-ma
guess what movie it was???) It starts as a derby and is telescoped down and
then back up. The brim is tightly curled. It is a variety of the Civil War hat
the Pork Pie. This hat is an excellent choice for men and women.

These original hats are totally hand made. Lil Grizz and Mizz Grizz block
their fur felt hats without a blocking machine. They use only traditional,
non-mechanized pre-1800 methods. They use only steam and the touch of their
skilled hands to compete the final shaping of the crown and brim. Because of
this, each hat has a one of a kind look and may have slight indentations or
marks from the traditional process. Please do not expect these hats to be
perfectly rounded as they are not stamped out on a mold but are methodically
pulled into shape by the Grizz's trained hands.

Their unique comfort sweatband is made of an absorbent material that is
covered with cotton cloth for a comfortable custom fit. The signature pencil
curl on the brim strengthens the brim in the traditional manner as well as
adding a touch of class to your new treasure. ... And don't worry about going
out in the rain.... It is a working hat and safe for wear in all types of
weather.

All our hats are custom made to fit your head instead of just made to a hat
size. You will need to measure your head to the nearest 1/8th of inch using a
sewing tape measure. It is best to have a second person to help you get an

If you have had trouble getting a hat to fit properly or you know that your
head is a long oval please also send us a photo of the to top of your head
using the customer comments section of the order form. (A simple cell phone
picture will be fine.)

options and we feel that a customer's hatband is a personal statement,

NOTE: Due to our use of the wood stove, antique non-mechanized tools,
traditional methods and hand shaping each hat will have variations of shape and
will arrive with a slightly distressed look and feel. If you are looking for a
spot-less hat that is absolutely identical to the photo then we are not the
best choice for your purchase......However....if you are looking for a hat that
is legendary in fit and style for a reasonable price then we are the best
choice for your purchase!
